The recent US decision to restrict foreign access to Mythos has created sensation stories across many levels of people. From AI enthusiasts and developers to business owners, investors, and enterprise leaders, everyone suddenly has an opinion.

Some see opportunity. Some see risk. Many simply do not want to be left behind.

When access eventually opens again in the near future, I believe we may witness one of the biggest waves of AI FOMO yet. People will rush to use the latest and most powerful models for almost everything, not because they truly need to, but because everyone else is doing it.

This reminds me of someone buying a Ferrari to drive Grab or Uber. Can it be done? Of course. Is it impressive? Maybe. Is it the most practical way to operate? Probably not.

The AI industry is entering a phase where access itself is becoming the headline. The perception of exclusivity often creates more excitement than the actual use case.

But the real question is not whether your business can access the most powerful model. The real question is whether your business truly needs it.
Technology history has shown us something important. The winners are rarely the ones chasing the most expensive tools first. They are usually the ones who understand where those tools create real value.

As AI continues to evolve, separating genuine business needs from pure FOMO may become one of the most valuable skills a company can have.
Because in the end, the smartest AI strategy is not always about using the biggest model. Sometimes, it is about knowing when not to.
