Alhamdulillah. My wife and I are genuinely grateful — at 50, we still have the health, the strength, and the operational bandwidth to keep dropping ourselves into unfamiliar environments and stress-testing what we're actually made of.
A few of our more extreme field deployments so far:
• Northern China mountains, holding steady at around -25°C
• Northern Pakistan, moving through terrain and conditions that punish sloppy planning
• An expedition to the highest active volcano in Southeast Asia
And InshaAllah, the next run pushes further out — the Chersky Range in northern Russia, where the thermometer bottoms out around -50°C.
At this point in the timeline, the objective isn't distance for its own sake. It's finding out where our real limits actually sit, and how much further we can move them together.
